Nascar Fueling Type
The fuel injection system will bring increased technology and efficiency to the Cup Series cars while at the same time complementing the car's high performance."This move gives us an additional opportunity to incorporate the best technology in our race cars that will enhance the sport in a variety of ways," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR vice president of competition. ECUs maximize each racing team's ability to get the most performance and best fuel economy under all race conditions. With this announcement, plans call for every Cup Series race team to use a control system with Freescale's advanced 32-bit Power Architecture based engine management processors at its core, beginning in 2012. These same processors power millions of today's most energy efficient engines.

Ethanol will soon constitute 15% of the NASCAR fuel blend. Is it possible for this percentage to increase over the year? Or is this as far as the sport is willing to go?
ReplyDeleteyou said "This move gives us an additional opportunity to incorporate the best technology in our race cars that will enhance the sport in a variety of ways" in what ways will this enhance the sport? what are some down sides to this?
ReplyDeleteryan nascar is wasting to much gas and the only good part of the race is when someone gets in a crash. Nascar should be stopped there's no fun in driving around a track 300 times and 200 mph. ITS A WASTE OF GAS AND MONEY.
ReplyDeleteJordan Stop drinking the Hatorade
ReplyDeleteSimmons-The former "Car of Tomorrow" was introduced to Cup racing in 2007, when 16 races featured the new car and 20 were run using the former, so-called "standard car." "I think we saw, running the COT in some of the races and the old car in some of the races, how painful it was for the teams to operate that way -- for us to have fuel injection for part of the season would have been tough to balance," said Robert Yates
ReplyDeleteJordan Nascar is one of the most watched sports around and they have a stricter rules compared to other sports, Have they already started testing the new fuel in the cars.
ReplyDeleteAlso nascar as a hole plans to go to fuel injection in 2012. Using electronics, fuel injection allows a precise amount of fuel to suit the amount of air flowing through the engine (a carburetor is less efficient because it sets an optimum amount of fueling for a specific point during an engine cycle).
ReplyDeleteIf you made them solar power it would cost more to run the car because they race in rain or shine, If they get into a wreck the car would be complete junk because the panel would be cracked or destroyed.
ReplyDeleteJordan, what you are saying is completely opinionated. Nascar is entertainment just like football and basketball. are you saying entertainment is a waste of time?
ReplyDeleteThis could be a smart way to fuel race cars but how do we keep it going, without them changing the type of gas they use again
ReplyDeletetheres better way to entertain yourself then watching cars drive in circles
ReplyDeletenot really because baseball starts in a month and basketball sucks so nascar is the only other Sport going.
